What is Botox?

Botox, or botulinum toxin, is an injectable material that can be used to smooth out wrinkles.  Facial wrinkles are a normal process of aging, and can be caused by the muscles in the face, as they move for facial expression.

Botox is isolated from a bacterium, and causes temporary paralysis of muscles, lasting about 4-6 months after injection. This muscle relaxation can smooth out these lines and wrinkles.

Botox Injections

Botox can be strategically injected into areas of the face to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and allow for a more youthful looking appearance.  Popular areas for injection include the forehead, between the eyebrows, and crow’s feet.

Plastic surgeons are uniquely qualified to inject Botox in the face, with expert knowledge of facial anatomy.

Injections are done in the office, using a very small needle, with minimal pain, tailored to your specific goals.
