Liposuction

What is Liposuction?

Liposuction involves removing fat in the body using small incisions.  Areas can be contoured surgically by literally sucking excess fat out of the body.

This is best done for localized fat deposits that are stubborn and hard to lose with diet and exercise.  These problems areas include the hips, thighs, armpits, buttocks, and back.  It is not a weight loss procedure or meant to remove large volumes of fat.

Liposuction Surgery

Liposuction can be done as its own procedure, or combined with other procedures such as a tummy tuck or breast reduction.  It is usually done under a general anesthetic with you asleep.

Dissolvable stitches are used for the small skin incisions, and you can expect to wear compression garments after surgery for the best results.
